Thanks Beau for the information. The owners must be rapt to have their pup home.

Really hope the pup is OK after being soooooooo long 'in custody'.

    As was in your post:

'In an out-of-court settlement late last week, David and Megan Thurston, from the suburb of Canadian, won the right to keep their beloved red nose American pit bull terrier.'

The above worries me - because of confidentiality clauses etc etc with out of court settlements - we may never know why the council finally backed down and released the pup !

Good to see a happy ending for someone, poor dog though, locked up for so long. There was a pic on facebook today of a dog that looked nothing like a pitbull who was given a death setence from VCAT recently. I would like to know just how many dogs they've killed so far?

Just found this on facebook :

Graeme McEwen, chair of the Barristers Animal Welfare Panel (BAWP) will be talking about BSL on the 7.30 report tomorrow (Fri).

BAWP successfully secured the release of Butch who was seized under Victoria's BSL laws. Butch was held for a period of 305 days during which his owners were not allowed access to visit their dog. The City of Ballarat has admitted to spending $100K defending this case.
