Choppa, not sure how my humour is in bad taste.. but take it how you wish.
I am pretty good at "breed guessing" and honestly, if we are speaking about a pure APBT then it's not really that confusing to recognise it as that, is it?
If it were a mixed breed then I agree it would be harder, but even then, they have a certain "look" that is not that hard to miss. For example, the cute wrinkles on their heads, the size and build of them.
The breeds that usually get me confused are white boxers and American bulldogs.. every other breed I am usually on the nose with.

But Pug alot of breeds and cross breeds have those cutle wrinkles and are built the same and are also the same size. I've known 2 dogs that I knew from birth that were absolutely not APBT but many people swore black and blue they were.

Can I ask what your personal 'perception' of one is ? ( genuine question - wooden spoon is locked away for now )

ok, they look sort of like an English Staffordshire with the head shape, although not quite as wide. They are also usually (although not always) quite well toned and large. They are often (again not always) solid in colour being either liver, brindle or white (rare). The liver ones have the most amazing pale brown eyes and liver nose. Very attractive animals actually...except when they want to eat you
