    Well obviously there are many people with dangerous dogs who don't keep them and everyone else safe.. hence the daily attacks.
    I can't even walk to my kids school to pick them up anymore because of the dogs not contained to their properties.
    There is a pitbull also, which always comes bounding out of it's front yard and stands growling in the middle of the street.. seriously.. want to give the breed a bad name much? I would shoot the owners before the dog (If I was violent and owned a gun).

    BERNIE - I believe this is the post you are referring to in your previous post.

    As you can see I make NO mention of our dogs not getting along in public. I said our dogs legally have to be muzzled in public because of LAWS and that I don't belive a bunch of PB people out with their dogs muzzled is really a great PR image even though the dogs will all be super friendly. On top of that who wants to go out and publicly declare they have a Pitbull when it is likely our dogs will then be targeted by the council.

    Just to clarify when I said it was too dangerous to take our dogs out in public I was referring to the fact that we could be persecuted for it not the fact that our dogs are too dangerous. Because they are not.

    I do believe however there are whispers in the Pitbull community of a possible rally in Canberra but they are just whispers. I have shown my interest in traveling to Canberra to take part in a Rally. Being that they are not banned in ACT we would all be safe there.

    Absolutely, but for as many idiots, irresponsible owners with dangerous dogs there are an equal amount of responsible owners with dogs who have issues also, but we manage them properly. But dangerous dogs whether in the hand of people like me and Bernie or idiot owners can be any breed of dog.

    Have to ask, how do you know the dog is a Pitbull?? We have already had the conversation about how many crossbreeds of non APBT can look like PBs, so in all honesty the dog you see could be any cross of 20 breeds who look similar.

    I've seen enough PB's to spot them a mile off

    No such thing as a "Pitbull" anyways but
    Sorry even breed judges have trouble recognizing APBT's and even people who have owned the breed for years can sometimes have dramas recognising them from certain other breeds and crossbreeds.

    I think that if this is true you have a duty to report these or this dog to the council.
    I have done it due to a dog crapping all over my fromt yard. I had a gut full of it as my dogs at the time when we had 2 dogs never went there to crap. So why should I have to clean up after someone else's dog.
    I had to provide times and places it done what I put down and I had to provide the adress of where I knew the dog lived. And it was acted on, the dogs stopped comeing over and doing it for a while.
    then it all started again so back on the phone.
    You have to report this no matter who owns it and if it still presists then take it to your member of parliment. Iknow this sounds a little too strong.
    But it has interupted your life as you now driver the kids to school.
    The thing I just don't understand why and how people let this happen. It is in your ball park now and it is you who has to do something about it.
    Oh, and by the way the council can't give out your name if you was wondering if they found out where this info came from.

    er. well, you had me up to that point. WTF? if your dog is not socialised and well behaved around other dogs, isnt that a dangerous dog?
    I might be wrong, but I htink you melded 2 posts together and came up with another concept other than what was expressed.

    I had made a comment about a public meeting that took place with dogs in tow, in an effort to show how normal the Pb was. Two dogs at this public rally got into a tussle and it was then acknowledged that a public situation like this was not in the breeds best interests because you cannot control who attends and what dogs attend. So PR wise, it was a bad move.

    I think Keira then made mention in a followig post that the law states the dogs have to be muzzled when in public now regardless of them being aggressive or not, and that the public seeing muzzled dogs will only help re-inforce the idea that they are aggressive. Again, PR wise, this is not a good thing.

    Marketing is all about perception.
    A pessimist sees the glass as half empty;
    An optimist sees the glass as half full;
    A realist just finishes the damn thing and refills it.

    Perhaps you should apply for the ACO positions that are being advertised, seeing as you 'know' exactly which dogs are pitbulls & which are not..... Must have some kind of 'super-dog-identifying' power that the rest of us are lacking.....

    A Pets Australia group on facebook are advertising DNA tests for sale for people who want to have proof their dogs are not APBT, I wonder if that would help people at all? A lot seemed to be interested...
