Have any of you seen American Bulldog X Rottweiler dogs? A few of them could pass as Pittys. Go to youtube and search it. They are kind of cute actually.

Or a vizsla/staffy/, boxer/lab, Chi/Bullmastiff Lmao.. Phenotypes are endless. Hence breed descriptors futile.

Personally, speaking as an owner of an American Pit Bull Terrier, I'd think seriously about leavin the 'Sunshine' or 'Smart' state and move to the Northern Territory, the Australian Capital Territory, or Western Australia. Your dogs will always be at risk of being seized by council nazis (rangers by any other name LOL) in Queensland and executed. Logan would have to be one of the worst councils to live in, in the worst state for pittie owners.

Lovely looking little pit bull terrier you have there; there are very few AmStaffs with red noses today as the AmStaff folk have been trying to breed out red noses for 75 years now.

Moving interstate isn't really in the cards or even possible for now.
Logan and Queensland, are not as bad as they were a little while ago, due to all the court cases they had here things have certainly slowed down and they have backed off a lot.

Thanks I think she is gorgeous but I am biased Here are some more up to date pictures, she has bulked up a bit over the last few months, now I need to do some conditioning to build the "bulk" in muscle.

Great pictures K&P. I seen in the paper on Wednesday that Logan City Council are going to start doing another round of door to door inspections to make sure dogs are registered starting in January. Fingers crossed that they don't start wrongly targeting people, I've only recently just registered mine with them so I am hopping they don't try and say Harley is a pitty or something! lol I get awful paranoid about these things.

Thanks I have friends with good cameras and talent.

My parents house never got the door knock last year, maybe it is because we are on a battle axe block, to lazy to walk down the drive way lol. Will have to transfer the girls rego from Bris to Logan then boo.

They can't walk in and just say Harley is a Pitt, they don't have the rights that Rangers do in Vic. Plus LCC (and most Qld Councils) are much more wary of targeting dogs seeing as they have been to court and sued so many times of late. If you do have a door knock, just know they have no right to take Harley, nor do they have a right to go into your house, if they come round and you feel they were going to target Harley then just be sure he is always secured on your property and preferably inside when you are not home. If you are ever really worried that they might try to seize him then contact me straight away, I can put you in touch with people who know the law and can help you.

Harley is always in the fenced off back yard, I read somewhere if the gates are shut etc they can't come in? He normally just sleeps on the back patio which is out of sight anyway!

They are not supposed to come in. But I have heard a fair few stories of Rangers purposely letting dogs out of their yards so they can seize them.

Preferably you would have a pad lock on your gates so only you can open them.

For anyone in Tasmania, an "Authorised Person" CAN enter and remain ON or IN ANY private residence...

    Legislation View Page

    72. Entering private premises

    (1) An authorised person may enter and remain in or on any private premises at any reasonable time to determine –

    (a) the number of dogs on those premises; and

    (b) whether or not any dog on those premises is registered; and

    (c) any other relevant matter relating to any licence.

    (2) An authorised person may require the occupier of the premises to produce for inspection by the authorised person on the premises –

    (a) all dogs of which the occupier is the owner; and

    (b) any other dogs kept on those premises; and

    (c) evidence of the registration of dogs kept on those premises.

    An Authorised person may be...

    "authorised person" means –
    (a) a police officer; or

    (b) a general manager; or (note: "general manager" means the general manager of a council appointed under the Local Government Act 1993

    (c) a person appointed by a general manager to be an authorised person; or

    (d) a person who is a ranger under the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1970; or

    (e) a person appointed as a bailiff of Crown lands under the Crown Lands Act 1976;

Everyone should check with their local dog management laws to see what rights they have (and don't have as the case may be).
