Had the AmStaff folk not deserted the Pit people and tried to make out they had a different dog to start with it might not have come to the point where thousands of family dogs were taken and destroyed.
There is safety in numbers and sensible action not lies
Well I've got an Amstaff X Pitbull can I start saying he is infact a PURE dog now??

I think you will find there are many Amstaff folk who have been there all the way fighting BSL.

I didn't say hide the truth but I don't think the belief that the APBT and Amstaff were the same dog, was a common one. I believe that sometimes too much is said over the internet and I wonder why the people who have so passionately stated on forums that they are the same dog are now pissed that Councils may include the Amstaff under the same Laws. In the 6 years this case has been going its only now that the belief they are the same dog has come to light. If the Councils were aware of this 6 years ago don't you think they would have used that to win the case way back then?

Either way the Law is **** and the only losers are the owners of Tango who have done so much to fight these ridiculous laws and now potentially thousands of other Amstaff owners.

Six years ago BullyT there had not been the work done on DNA that has been done now.

Huge companies don't waste time and money coming up with these tests for fun, they have known it would be widely used. If current laws were kept it certainly would be.

Even on one of the news clips an am Staff breeder is saying "They are not vicious" (AmStaffs) she would do the cause better not to single out the Am Staff for that statement, because it leaves many thinking that the Pit Bull is vicious which it is not.

Best while one has the spotlight to throw in that the Pit Bull is probably the only breed bred specifically not to bite man, therefore why should the Am Staff be considered a threat to people just because it is linked to the pit.

Personally my money is on BSL being thrown out over this.

Please forgive me if I wrongly took your statement. In my experience almost every AST, SBT, BT etc breeders website have a section specifically based on BSL and how it does/can effect that breed. The Am Staff breeder whom said that was only saying something that she has probably had to say many many times over before the Am Staff was linked to the APBT.

In my experience with Bailey whom I am not sure is a X breed APBT or pure and the MANY MANY MANY (I want one to show lol) AST's I have met, they are very very different regarding temperament.

Appearance is nothing to go by when it comes to the APBT because their standard is so widely ranged they could practically look like a golden retriever lol.

I certainly believe that they come from the same lines, way back, just like the SBT but DO NOT BELIEVE for one second that they are one and the same breed now.

    Just IMO
