I suspect they do pay for dog stuff. Via rates. Ie the cost of council providing dog services (parks and bags and ranger pickup) exceeds what they get in rego. Tho it might have evened up given our council now requires registration of cats - which really pisses off the cat owners - no parks for them... or return service (except maybe in a body bag).

With how many damn cats are out wandering the streets at night I'm not surprised, must cost animal control a heap in fuel collecting them all

Animal control would have exactly zero chance of collecting any but the most extremely friendly to anybody. Eg about 1 in 10 cats around here - I might be able to catch (they don't even care about my dog) but the rest - I think they know what I want to do with them.

Nets are probably reasonably effective, but yes, there are other ways as well

Our gate is always locked, we have three padlocks, ours and.....it has one special padlock that belongs to the Rural Fire, in case of fire, and another from the electricity people ( they even ring or leave a note) as we have powerlines they maintain....they are all trustworthy, but no way can someone just open the gate and walk on

You'll never believe what happened yesterday. Watch this video !!!

One of these clowns was caught on security camera letting out a persons dog from their property. The dog is unregistered but that makes no bloody diffrence whatsoever.

I'll also post the councils pathetic response they issued this afternoon. No mention of any punishment or any explanation of why this happened and how it could be stopped from happening again. It's hit the fan here already and its only the first week of their witch hunt.

Here's the 'apology'....or as i call it....lets blame the owner for this.
Greg Barnes - Representative for Division 5 - Bundaberg Regional Council

"accidental" - only in that dude's imagination.

I wonder how many other dogs they did this to and got away with it.

Exactly Hyacinth. That bloke would have entered god knows how many yards yesterday. This whole things really making me mad. No word on if the blokes getting punished for this BS.

My gates are chained and padlocked at the moment ...something i've never done unless we go away on holidays.

I must add that the links i'm using to 'Greg Barnes' isnt to have a dig at him personally. He's a pretty good bloke and does a damn good job. Shame he works for a bunch of tools at the BRC.
