Thread: Supreme court win for dog owner

Some very good news on that facebook link :

We have also had news that a dog from Bendigo, who had been declared a Restricted Breed has gone home. The owner of Boss had lodged his appeal with VCAT, but the council saw some sense and have sent him home. Well done to his owner for appealing the decision, and not just going along with the council.
Boss has gone home, and NOT as a Restricted Breed dog
Assuming this is true, i wonder if it's a result of the supreme court decisions recently? Can only hope if it is the state govt starts to consider things like the AVA proposal ...

As I understand it Rocket actually lost. But they are appealing the decision at VCAT and taking it to the Supreme Court.

I've been looking at Baby's pics of her first day of freedom. So touching! And I could understand their rant about the RSPCA person when they picked her up saying that they were "lucky". I don't think having your dog locked up in a kennel for 18 months without being allowed to even visit for no good reason is lucky either. Nor is winning a court case after spending that much time and money on it because of stupid legislation.

Sorry, it was I who misread. Sounds like Rocket won the supreme court appeal. But now there needs to be another vcat hearing.

First one to go back to VCAT after the supreme court win was given it's freedom, so I'd hope they are all given the same treatment

How many more court cases can this Government and local councils lose without realising that there is something really tragically and morally wrong with their BSL ?

If this is true - we can forget about 'Big Brother' happening - it would appear it has been and gone !
