    Default New Dog Registry.. Coockapoo

    Wont they have ear problems??
I know both poodles & cockers have terrible shaped ears for infection & then there is the poodle hair in ears as well.
Not a very well thought out cross in my honest opinion but each to their own I guess.

Why are you promoting their website? (putting a link to it, they get more hits and a higher ranking in google). It's not an Australian thing either.

Perhaps she found it interesting that someone should consider this cross Hya

I found it interesting that they had their own North American Registry.

This cross has been around for awhile in Aus.
    I agree with Hyacith.

I never thought of it as advertising their link & am well aware it isn't australian but was really surpriced that if they where going to push a poodle x called some silly designer name that this would be the 1 they choise.
If you read all my post Hyacinth you will see I am dead against these silly fraudulent names & diffently don't think we need any more purebreed at this time. I beleive a x should be called what ever it is not a made up name.
I do not breed any of these silly designer named dogs but a line of xbreeds that I have been working on for many years & generations. I think a 1 of crossing of 2 breeds is a jackpot at best.
I was just genuinely interested in what others thought & if others knew they where trying for purebreed reg.
I am getting a little peeved that poeple can not PM me & ask their questions of my beliefs as I am happy enough to talk about it in a resonable manner. Don't just assume you know what I really meant.

I know that it has been around awhile but have often wondered about ear problems as I know they plague both breeds.
You lot assume wrongly about my beliefs an awefull lot maybe you should read all my post not just a few lines & think you know what I am saying.
Why would I want to advertise some american website for goodness sake???
What would I get out of it????????????

    Ok .A suggestion.
Since we are in the breeders section why don't you explain your breeding practices as regardless of names crossing is crossing.

But I already have countless times, give me a bit & I will link you to all relevent posts. But in the mean time here is a very cut down version of what you will find on those other posts.
    1. I am against bulk breeding of any kind wether it be purebreeds or crossbreeds. I just this morning checked my records & I have breed in the last 6 years, 3 purebred litters & 4 crossbred litters so average just over 1 litter a year. And there was a 5yr period before that that I only breed 1 crossbred
    litter.
    2. I health test for all & some extras relevent to breed & as I am not a bulk breeder can afford to keep only the top 15% to breed on with so cull heavily.(cull to me means removal from breeding programe or adolsentant desexing).
3.My pups genrally stay in the family or go to close friends but the 1's that don't are sold with the understanding they can send a dog home no questions asked & I will even pay the flight myself if nedds be. I beleive if you breed it or even rehome a dog you owe it a stable good home so will always take them back.
    4. I started my own xbreed small family dog programes when my sister was 9 & sick with asthma & diabeties. For 15 years I have worked on the samelines & am very fussy about what I bring in. I did start even further back but that programe stalled & was restarted 15yrs ago.

Well thats a start will add what I breed & why next with some links to old posts.

I think this is in the breeders section because the website actually says that it is a registered breed in America. Kind of hard to believe so I think that's why crazydog put it up here to get other peoples opinion, etc. I never once read it as her condoning or promoting a breed.

I didn't read the entire page but it certainly is a very shifty site. By trying to lead people to think that it's a stable breed with of course no mention of health problems (and come on, what breed doesn't have health problems? Very few).

Very deceptive for the uneducated buyer. We all know that there is no such thing as "the best of both breeds". I don't know much about Cockers or Poodles (never been interested in either breed) but if both breeds have ear problems, then I'd expect it to be almost certain that the cross would have ear problems. I like how the people who sell these oodle crosses (for profit as designer dogs) never seem to mention how much grooming they need. In fact for a first time dog owner I'd imagine it would be quite overwhelming if you didn't have lots of cash to constantly take them to the groomers.
