Thread: Would You Advertise a Pup Looking This Unkeep??

Default Would You Advertise a Pup Looking This Unkeep??

Every pup in the ad looked like it had been taken from a dirty pen, no face wash nothing.
Also caught my attention as puppies this dirty are either sick or living in filth.
Very sad & I bet poeple do not even notice & if questioned I bet the so called breeder would say oh it's just because they have just eaten.
That is no excuse that could possibly answer why this pups eyes are so runny & overall coat is greasy & dirty looking.

Yeah I wouldn't be happy with that at all.

I have reported it already just was amazed that they don't even realize how bad that pup looks or you would not post them on an add.

I also sent an email to the owners & the responce is really quite sad.
They didn't think pups looked dirty & said what do you exspect at this age when they roll in their own poos & wees & spread food from 1 end of their crate to another.
I have responded telling them at this age the pups should have acces to toliting areas that are not part of their sleeping or feeding areas. I also told them puppyv pens should be picked up as needed, soiled bedding needs removing as soon as you see it's dirty or wet & area throughly washed out daily & disenfected with approprate cleaning products. The last point I added was that pups can get sick from spoiled food so other than dry bits any puppy food not eaten at feeding time should be removed within 20 minutes.
I added an attachment to my email about approprate feeding of puppys(what is really quality food, amounts & timing) & socialization tips for the first 8wks. They where also homing pups under 8wks & said as long as they have had their needles & are eating well they don't understand why they should keep a pup an extra 2 wks when poeple are all ready to take them. I touched on how important the learning period is between 5 & 9 wks & that they really need the benifit of litter mates & mum at this age or their learning abilities can be affected for life & that I actully often keep pups till 10wks when possible.

Definitely agree with contacting the RSPCA.

While I admire your concerns & efforts to help, I would have sought advice from the RSPCA before contacting the other party.

If you did, then I apologise.

Yeh I did ring them but must admitt I'd already sent the email to them & probley should have just lesft the whole thing with RSPCA. I just feel like some poeple think they are doing the right thing & with a little education will be able to see how it is wrong & what are the correct ways to care for pups.

Thanks for the PM & above reply CD.

Perhaps forward your emails to the RSPCA inspector assigned to this. You never know, they might try telling porkies re their pups situation or deny others have voiced concerns to them.

Hopefully they'll be educated about responsible pet ownership. So lets see what unfolds eh.

    Thanks for caring

I don't think these people care about puppy welfare or they wouldn't be doing what they're doing. They only care about getting money as quickly as possible. Not sure what the vet is doing - they ought to be advising them - but maybe all the vet cares about is money too or thinks the puppies will get no vet care if they don't just accept it. Not sure how that fits with vet ethics though. Pretty sure there are a very few vets that have no ethics.

    Hyacinth,
I'm sure they went into it thinking they'd make some money but surely they wont sell those pups with them looking that bad. Then again poeple see what they want to see & not whats really there all the time.
I just don't get how you can ignore a dirty puppy pen but I know plenty of poeple do, yukko. Wish I could make them live in their own pees & poos..................
