I also feel it is not necessary to be home with a pup or dog all day as long as its needs for food/water/shelter/safety/things to occupy them is made and that the initial introduction of the dog or pup in the home is more or less the same as it will be later on.

In saying that though I raised mine to be used to changes so that nothing really fazes them. Inside in the laundry if needed after vets visits, out in the pen, no set times inside etc etc. Today the pups will not be inside as they are muddy so they are content on the veranda, asleep.

Police dogs catching criminals, guide dogs guiding blind people, life saving dogs saving life. My dogs cannot do any of those above mentioned jobs but I still love them because they love me. I like taking my dogs to dog parks and watch them play with other dogs. I love watching my dogs swim, run and play. If you let them in the house you can expect them to windge and cry when you kick them out in the morning when you go to work.

Sorry for being rude.. I disagree with the whole sharing an ice cream with the dog inside the house on the bed scene. Dogs a dog.
WTF would I wanna do that? Prince, if you know ppl who wanna stay home and watch their dogs lick their balls and arses, you really need to get out more! Seriously, that's a wee bit on the sicko side, don't you think?

Not too sure about the ice-cream thing. Never known anyone who shares an ice-cream on the bed with their dogs??? But if I did, I wouldn't judge them on that. I tend to judge ppl on how they behave, their words, their actions, and well, basically if they are a wanker or not.

I have a question not asked yet I think, are you just after a pet? if so will you be desexing?

I wouldn't sell a puppy to someone who was going to be at work for 8 hours the day after they brought it home. (or I would make them wait to get the puppy)

Pups need time to settle in and get used to their new home and owner, if you are buying a new pup, be prepared to take at least a week off work (unless you live with someone who will be home of course)

After that, I don't have a problem with it... people have to work, fact of life. I have my preferences with leaving dogs alone (crate vs free) and I would tell the buyer my opinion.

My dogs share my ice-cream... they usually end up getting more than me

but if your dog had a litter would you accept me as a potential buyer? (for pet)
22 and work full time with partner is 27 working full time. Huge back yard and allowed inside, very secure, no other pets or kids, take it for walks every day and to training.
what else would you need to know to accept me?
Sounds like you are trying to adopt someone's child...

I have never had to hand in an application to buy a dog before...
I suggest to look on trading post, that way you won't have to deal with these difficult requirements...

You sound like the perfect person to be a dog owner to me

Prince - Me personally... sorry but probably not.
Everyone has different standards, and to me, dogs are family, not 'just dogs'.
Mind you I do have a rare breed that attracts a certain type of customer... and they certainly aren't dogs that can be kept outside.

I'd sell you a desexed outdoor dog if I were a breeder.

I would want to know a bit more about the lives the dog would lead, if you intend to desex.
My father in Law has one of my pups. She is a working dog, never inside and loves it and has a wonderful home. One of the conditions she is there is that she was desexed.

Now that is a piece irresponsible advice coming from a member here, i'm guessing that you know only to well how most members here feel about byb's & puppy farmers ???????.. ffs trading post is full of BYB's & puppy farmers & who would want to stoop that low & support BYB's & puppy farmers by recommending the trading post.

I know if i was a breeder you sure as hell wouldn't be sold one of my dogs that's for sure, you would be so far down the bottom of the list, not even hell is that far down.

IMO & i'm going to be so blunt, but your not the type of dog owner that would be good enough for my dogs as you don't have 24/7 time frame avail to give to your dogs.

PS: att DA... sorry in advance if my reply has you working overtime with "report button".
