So especially for you Cate the colours are:

    2 x Red Fawns
    1 x Blue fawn - I like this girl
3 x Orange/Fawn Brindles, I say Orange/Fawn because I think they will follow their mother and go Orange between now and 8wks like she did.
1 x Black/Orange Brindle, very little brindling thru coat. Had an enquiry on her today hence the individual photo.

I like the one in the 2nd pic on the left hand side closest to the edge of the whelping box. They are all so sweet, I love whippets but I must admit to looooving whippet pups! Which one is the one you picked and the one I like now with the identifying names you have given them?

OK all at the milk bar are from left to right
    Diamond
    Jet
    Moo
    Brindle
    Star
    Boy
    and another brindle fallen off.

Pic 2 close up from bottom left
    Star - Red/fawn
    Moo - Blue fawn
    Jet - Black slight brindling

then on the right from bottom to top
    Diamond - Red/fawn
Boy - brindle more white than the brindle girls
Brindle girls these two are similar one we call tag.

So if I've understood you correctly I think you like Jet and Star.

So it seems I have changed my mind about my pic of litter!! I can't wait until they get a little older to see the definition between them all! Are you happy with any of them show wise?

The breeder of the Sire cannot wait to see them. She'll come when they're walking and talking. She thinks they would be one of two ways either exceptional or crap given the bloodlines.

If they were Kelpie pups I'd know which ones to pick, at this stage, the two big brindle girls, however I'm new to whippets and they may be too heavy??

I really like the blue/fawn - sucked in by her pretty markings I think, she is middle of the road in regards size so I've got my fingers crossed.

They are just starting to be more than eating/sleeping/pooping machines. With the odd squeak here and their as one chews on the others ear or something. Still very wobbly on the legs.

I will run on the best two so I can watch their progress & learn and then keep one and find a home for the other as a 5mth old or so or both if they both don't turn out. Lots of people want to miss the tiny puppy stage these days. Someone even offered to buy the mother the other day - no way.

Your original pick was diamond. I think she's going to be a "go get em type."

I like the 'go get em types', they make for a great show dog. I also get sucked in by the markings and must admit that is the first thing I look at, but as that is also the first thing a judge looks at, I believe it is the way to go. Then delve further and look at conformation and such.

Ooh I wish I could have one, I would love to get back in the ring with a whippet, I really believe that when you get a 'good' whippet, you can go far.

I would be interested to know what the prefixes are behind the pups, of course if you are not happy to tell, that's fine. It's more for curiosity that anything else.

I really hope they do well for you!
