    Cate,

The one second from the right, Diamond Bum as we've nicknamed her is the little one but she is going well. Not so for one of the other little ones which is not suckling despite me holding it on to mum, squeezing milk and putting on warm water all the usual things that will entice a pup to suck..

I will tube feed her today, which I hate, to give her some strength after that I will let nature take it course and see what happens.

This is a big litter for a 10.5 kg first time mum, but having said that whippets have unusually large litters in my opinion, friends bitch has just had 11 and all are looking good, but this is the 3rd litter for mum.

    Fingers crossed.

All my thoughts are with you and your pups and mum dog. I hope all of them pull through for you, I understand how hard it is when something does not go quite to plan and you feel helpless, I have seen my Mum go through this and it is heartbreaking. Fingers and toes are crossed for you and pups.

Cate, oh forgot to say that a photo of dad is in introductions (I think) under my gang or something like that?

He is a fawn brindle. He is the stacked show photo at about 7mths old after taking RUBOB and Minor Puppy in Group.

If you look at Judge's Mully, her fawn colour is the same as the dads.

I can't really see any of his colouring in any of the pups yet, but whippies change a lot.

Struggling pup is still hanging in there.

So I just spent a good ten minutes to find the photo of Daddy dog and as soon as I saw it I realised that I had already seen it! Dir to me, it's been one of those weekends!
So I have been extremely rude and haven't asked about names - is there a list yet? or are you going to wait until they are a little older?
I keep coming back to look at the pics of the puppies and hoping everyone is alright and doing well.

    Cate,
Struggling pup is still hanging in there. Mum is getting frustrated at my interference with her babies, so it might be time to pull out and let nature take its course.

Theme for their reg. names will be things that have "touched us, inspired us or impacted on our lives recently". But there is plenty of time for that.

We have a few nicknames going though.
Sicky, Half-Star Bum, Boy, Diamond bum, Moo, Darky, Wide Band, Grey,
Mostly to do with colour and markings.

Good on all the pups for hanging in there! I truly do hope that you and the pups come out the other end of this with everyone being healthy (and maybe a few good show dogs thrown in there too! LOL!).

    1 week old and growing.

These will be well handled puppies as during the worst of the heat they were in the pantry, then when the change came thru Sat night they were moved to the front verandah.

Mum has been a bit clingy with me since the birth and unlike other bitches I've had prefers to have her puppies where everyone is otherwise she is torn as to where she wants to be so we have found it easier to move her and her puppies close to us.

Had the a/c fixed today by my girlfriends son so that will probably be the end to the extreme heat in Sydney.
