Healthy4paws what sort of "papers" did these guys give you with your pup?

I would hazard a guess to say that the term Am Bull is being used as a safe name for an unregistered Am Staff - which is by definition actually a Pit Bull.

Make sense? Probably not But in the absence of Choppa with her encyclopediac knowledge on the topic:

There is no official recognised breed called Am Bull. ANKC (the Australian National Kennel Council) also does not recognise the breed known as American Pit Bull Terrier. They do however recognise the American Staffordshire Terrier.

To over simplify, the Am Staff is a recognised and allowed version of an American Pit Bull.

Any Am Staff without ANKC registration is therefore legally a Pit Bull and subject to Breed Specific Legislation. In short, owner beware.

An Am Bull is not ANKC recognised either so can also legally be defined as a Pit Bull. Again, owner beware.

And when it comes to "breeders" like this one, purchasers beware. Be VERY careful indeed...

I am still shaking my head in disbelief. This place has 10 breeding males and 19 breeding females advertised on their website!! And bucket loads of puppies...

What about the quote "Here are some Pups from previous litters. Have a look and if you come across a puppy you like give us a call and we will try to cater to your taste!"

What is this? A genuine puppy factory??

Healthy4paws - if you aren't sure whether your pup is ANKC registerd you can PM me and I can try and help you figure it out.

Natty H4P has papers that are registered with the ANKC and all the dames, sires etc are listed as Am Staffs.

I have advised her to contact them and SACA if she would like info on Andonas and his dogs

That's good to know. I can easily see someone having trouble with an unreg dog of this breeding - being classed as a pitty.

Honestly, some of the guys on their photo pages look like mafia! And money! Geez! Scary...
