Default Can you find a breeder?

I'm wondering if i can contact Brian's breeder.
I got him from a idiot a week ago.
Who cant find his microchip paper work, despite the fact that he is chipped.
the vet was going to record its number for me while we were there having vaccs n checkup. But its not been written down, so tomorrow i will go get him scanned again, so i can complete the paper work to change the chip over.

Is there some way i can get the contact details too? like who is the person identified on the chip?
Its either idiot, who may of chipped him as a pup and cant remember, or he may not of bothered, in which case, the chip in Brian is from the breeder?
or, its real owner it was stolen from.

Im not sure what happens if he's stolen.
    Anyone know?

But if its a breeder, my thoughts are, if this pup was sold entire. Wouldn't that imply it was on a register with papers somewhere? And can the breeder do anything about it, or register it at a year, or re issue papers?

I couldnt see past the ribs and skin infection, nor the smell to be honest at first. But now i see him recovered. He's actually a good example of the breed.
If he were papered, i could show him. Up till desex at 18months, anyhow.
Am i allowed to know the name of the breeder and contact details from that microchip?

The vet ought to be able to look that up. And then make phone calls on your behalf. It may also be possible - depending where the microchip was registered that that dog body (eg DogsNSW) would have the microchip details in their system somewhere. Can't be that many DDB. Police should have something too if he was stolen.

If you get no joy from his chip details, try contacting a few breeders with a general enquiry. If pup was sold to someone who didn't work out, they may not know about it. I would avoid making any accusations of lack of care and just ask if anyone knows where he may have come from. The DDB community in Aust is pretty small, someone would have an idea of his origins if he came from a regd breeder.
