Didn't know that desexed dogs could tie, thanks for the heads up MMJ...

knew they did the humpy humpy, my boy's proved that with his special hump-a-lot toy

Without pedigree papers you dont have a Cane Corso. No registered pedigree Corso can be bred with yours as the breeders can lose their kennel name for it, and it's also called backyard breeding.

Do you have a photo? Unless you can prove heritage you probably were sold a bandog.

I was going to suggest that he'd probably been sold a Bandog but my educational skills arn't up to par apparently

But what matters is that it's a perfect specimen!

This would have been the best answer at the start. I doubt if the original post person is looking any more as they got offended. This would have stopped it before it started!

Yeah look, I regret that my response sounded patronising. I blame looking at rescue and shelter websites too much lately.

Wasn't just you Beloz , the attitude shown to Rayz was enough to alert me to a person who was not here to hear they couldnt/shouldnt breed him.....so I reacted accordingly.

    A few pointers for Venom2374

    1. In some council areas you need a licence to have an undesexed dog. Eg Frankston area is one.

    2. Read before you breed - this is more for the bitch owners, but think twice before putting out a whole lot of scary big dogs of unknown heritage in VICTORIA, home of the kill all scary looking dogs laws aka BSL - the worst version in the country.

What is a responsible companion animal breeder? - RSPCA Australia knowledgebase

    3. Hereditary problems that dogs get
Organ Systems - LIDA Dogs - Faculty of Veterinary Science - The University of Sydney

Cane Corso is not specifically listed there but I'm sure you'd find similar things. In big dogs, Hip Displasia is common and expensive.

    4. No reputable responsible dog owner or breeder meet the criteria that you set. You can't tell how healthy a dog is genetically just by looking at it. It may still pass on expensive and unpleasant problesm to the puppies even if it shows no sign of the problem itself.

    5. In victoria you must microchip all puppies and they must all be 8 weeks of age before they are sold. And there's probably other laws you need to comply with when breeding. If you meet someone who is willing to let your dog mate with your bitch and doesn't ask 20 questions (or more) - are you really dealing with someone who has the best interests of dog, bitch and puppies at heart. What happens if something goes wrong with the bitch and the whelping? What happens if you can't sell all the puppies? What happens when you sell some to people who can't handle the 8 month old, selective hearing, destructo puppy-dog? Would you take these back and find new homes for them? This is the age most of these dogs end up at the pound on the kill list.

    6. It's against forum rules to abuse other members. You think we're insulting you? We have the best interest of your dog and any potential puppies in mind. You try that other forum - and you won't last 2 minutes.

    7. If you post from work, and join using a work email and want to do stuff that is really against the environmental stance of your work - you could find yourself answering a bunch of questions from them too - unless you are their IT guy - in which case - you'd better clean up after yourself.

Wow some of you guys are horrible.... You guys could have tried to take a little tactfulness in explaining breeding procedures when it comes to pedigrees rather than mock people and belittle them for what they don't know. Freaking keyboard heros
