No personal experience Anne but I do know some overseas chips can't be picked up by the equipment used by councils and Vets here in Oz. I only know this because a friend imported a Collie from the USA. His chip was cleared at quarantine but when he was scanned at the Vet it was not detected. One of the rangers tried her scanner but got the same result. Silly really. I believe she had him rechipped.
